Friends Of Boundaries Surgery (FOBs)
All patients of Boundaries Surgery are deemed to be members of FOBS and are welcome to attend the AGM in May each year.
FOBS was formed to raise funds for the surgery to enable it to enhance the service provided to patients with equipment and items not otherwise
available to them within the normal NHS system. Fundraising began in the late 1980s by a local 'Good Samaritan' and a group of likeminded friends.
The intention was that the 'Friends' were represented with stalls at local fetes and the annual village Gala Day and this has remained the mainstay
of fundraising ever since.
In recent years FOBS has always had a very successful homemade cake stall at the Medstead Fete and generally a music event of some sort in the
Village Hall or church during the autumn generating profits between them in excess of £1,500 each year. These funds along with donations from
patients have been used to provide items for the surgery to assist staff to provide a better or specialist care for patients of all ages.
Recent purchases have included a specialist examination couch and light for the new Treatment Room, renewal of the maintenance contract for the
portable oxygen cylinders, two high back chairs for the waiting room, information books on coping with bereavement and the self-monitoring blood
pressure machine.
We are very grateful for all the support we receive - both from patients and from our local businesses who generously donate goods or services.
And not forgetting those who attend the events we organise each year. Please continue to support us and Boundaries Surgery.
